I — III
What we found before writing a line of code — three observations that defined what this project would, and wouldn’t, become.
What it is
A web-based AI story generator for primary-school teachers.
They describe a topic and a class context, and receive narrative material ready to read aloud or hand out to students.
Why it matters
Teachers spend hours adapting reading material to each class topic, age range, and reading level.
Generic AI tools produce content that's off-tone, off-curriculum, or simply too dense for kids to follow.
What we built
A focused tool that asks for a topic and a class context, then returns ready-to-read narrative material in seconds, calibrated for tone, reading level, and curriculum alignment. No prompt engineering required from the teacher.
Discovery
Spent two weeks observing primary-school teachers prep their reading material. The friction wasn't AI literacy; most had tried ChatGPT. It was that the output was off-tone, off-curriculum, and required prompt engineering they didn't have time for. The brief became: turn "I'd like a story about volcanoes for second grade" into ready-to-read material in one click, no prompt craft required.
